Marc L. Weitzman, M.D. joined Ophthalmic Surgeons in 1998. He is a fellowship trained glaucoma specialist, providing state of the art medical, laser and surgical care to patients with glaucoma.

Dr. Weitzman graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the State University of New York at Albany. He went on to medical school at the State University of New York at Buffalo where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. After an Ophthalmology residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York, Dr. Weitzman went on to a rigorous glaucoma fellowship at the Yale University School of Medicine. A dedicated educator himself, he stayed on the faculty at Yale for five years after his training, working both as a glaucoma specialist and as director of the Yale Ophthalmology Residency Program.

Dr. Weitzman is a board certified fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Glaucoma Society. He is also a member of the Fairfield County Medical Association, Connecticut State Medical Society, Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians and the New England Ophthalmologic Society. He has lectured at numerous ophthalmology conferences nationally and internationally, sharing his expertise with other ophthalmologists the world over.

Dr. Weitzman enjoys skiing, cycling, hiking and travel. He and his wife Carol have two lovely daughters and a son.
