Stephen M. Rabinowitz, M.D., has been in practice at Ophthalmic Surgeons since 1989. Dr. Rabinowitz practices the full gamut of state of the art ophthalmology from caring for patients with cataract, glaucoma, diabetes, and other ophthalmic conditions to providing full comprehensive eye care.
Dr. Rabinowitz graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor degree from the University of Pennsylvania where he was honored with election to the Phi Beta Kappa society.He graduated medical school from New York University with honors as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. After his ophthalmology residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, Dr. Rabinowitz went on to advanced fellowship training at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. As chief resident during his Lenox Hill years he also traveled to the underdeveloped Caribbean nation of St. Vincent where he provided free eye care and surgery to those in need.
Dr. Rabinowitz is a board certified fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the Fairfield County Medical Association, Connecticut State Medical Society and the Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians.Over the years he has truly relished his warm and caring relationship with his patients. Dr. Rabinowitz coached in youth baseball and soccer for many years and has served as a commissioner in Little League. A lifetime avid baseball fan, he also enjoys golf, movies and spending time with his family.
Dr. Rabinowitz and his wife Janice are the proud parents of a son and daughter.
