Shelley K. Driesman, M.D. joined Ophthalmic Surgeons in 1984 and has been dedicated to providing outstanding ophthalmologic care to both children and adults. Her comprehensive eye care practice includes cataract evaluation, treatment of glaucoma, fitting of contact lenses and laser surgery.
Dr. Driesman graduated with honors in Biology from Harvard University, and then received her medical degree from Brown University. She went on to complete her internship in medicine followed by her ophthalmology residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. As Chief Resident in Ophthalmology, she spent six weeks on the small Caribbean island nation of St. Vincent where she provided eye care and surgery to those in need.
Dr. Driesman is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She is also a member of the Fairfield County Medical Association, Connecticut State Medical Society and Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians.
She and her husband, cardiologist Mitch Driesman, reside in Fairfield, CT and are the proud parents of two daughters and a son. She enjoys skiing and cycling, and is a true dog lover!
